If you can bear exactly the kind of terrible review we've been dreading ever since we heard of The Seeker, read on, then hit your keyboards.
BostonNow, one of the wee free rags I read on my daily commute, reviewed this awful movie, noting correctly that it was made "cash in on the latest trend", that of movies in the Harry Potter vein. However, the reviewer lays much of the blame for the movie's failure on the books, saying it's "mostly because of lazy storytelling that carries over to the film". Argh!
(This is where I get overblown, for lack of time to write more diplomatically.) I really really hope that this movie doesn't wreck the reputation of the books. To that end, I thought I'd say something here, in hopes of inspiring a friend or three to write a letter. I will if I have time, but I have a lot coming up this weekend (including a party to help throw), so this is at least both a reminder and a point of info.
