So, Riverdance is back. I hadn't really cared until I read the review in the paper, not least "The melting pot of ddance includes the Russian Dervish, firey Latin rhythms, a sultry flamenco and an incredible tap routine in which the African American and Irish dancers go toe-to-toe in a tapping battle with only one winner, the audience." Apparently the program tells a story, from ancient times till now, of the Irish people.

I love dance, and danced stories. The article reminded me of an aspect of my childhood I loved, when my parents would take me to see the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and other dance troupes. WHy yes, this is me indulging in nostalgia. Look quickly, it won't last long.

Riverdance is at the Shuubert Theatre, 270 Tremont Street (800 447 7400); can I afford a $50 ticket? Otoh, how many dinners out and summer blockbusters is that? Not very many, and I could see those anywhere and anywhen, but when will I go see dancers again?
