A useful link from several places on my F-list: has the Large Hadron Collider destroyed the Earth yet? Keep checking at regular intervals to be certain!
Incidentally, if the LHC does destroy the Earth, here is a description of how that will happen. Read into the comments for some estimates of how long the process might take.
