Children of the Week

Yet more poetry, but I've always wanted to put this rhyme in my diary, Because, and I discovered unexpectedly that Wikipedia has a page on it.
I fit both the usual Friday's Child appelations, which amuses me.
Monday's child is fair of face.
Tuesday's child is full of grace.
Wednesday's child is loving and giving.
Thursday's child works hard for a living,
Friday's child is full of woe.
Saturday's child has far to go.
But the child that is born on Sabbath-day
Is bonny and happy and wise and gay.
As Wikipedia mentions, if one backs things up a day the appelations fit the daily deities:
Sunday's child is full of grace. (Christian day of worship)
Monday's child is fair of face. (Mon=Moon, with its 'face')
Tueday's child is full of woe. (Tues=T}r, Norse 'God of War')
Wednesday's child has far to go. (Wednes=Woden 'The Wanderer')
Thursday's child works hard for a living, (Thur=Thor, Norse god)
Friday's child is loving and giving. (Frida=Freyja, Norse 'God of Love')
But the child that is born on Sabbath-day (Saturday=Sabbath)
Is bonny and happy and wise and gay.

I wonder where Wikipedia got their version of the verse. Interesting.
