So, I saved Friday's Metro in order to keep the article about and write letters to those lawmakers who switched their votes on the infamous bill from "yes" in January to "no" in June. Lord knows, as it were, these legislators are going to get a ton of mail condemning them in the names of Jesus, family, and legislated bigotry, so I figure they deserved a card each from a little brown girl to thank them. If you'd like to write them as well, here are their addresses:

Two asides:
The article with the lawmakers also covered the bill's proponents. Reading Kris Mineau's spluttering about how the Massachusetts Family Institute will "look very closely... for ethics violations or improprieties" was made even more amusing by reading this article about how *somebody* pulled shenanigans to list lawmakers as sponsors of a dreadfully restrictive bill concerning education about LGBT issues in K-12 schools. The main connection is that both efforts seek to encode homophobia in law, but still.
An aside about my Liberty/Justice Icon, which has taken me way too long to post:

shadowflyer made a Cafe Press store featuring this image during the '04 Election as part of the fight against re-electing Bush.
clauclauclaudia subsequently made an absolutely awesome icon from it, which I now gleefully sport.
