So, it strikes me, looking back over my journal, that I haven't written one of my long essays about random topics in awhile. (Also, I'm terribly behind on replying to comments. *wave to everyone who's left me a comment lately*) I feel rather... unintellectual, to have occupied myself solely with the minutae of life for so long. (Besides, I *do* want this thing to be at least a little interesting to read.)

Well, to be kinder to myself, I've been thinky, just elsewhere. And I'm sure I'll have a long rant on something sooner or later.

Besides (as so often happens) I had more to say but got interrupted.

Sometimes, for me at least, the longer or more introspective stuff needs to sit a while before I'm ready to write or post about it: so I post about the quotidian, and turn the other stuff over in my head for two months.
