Transit Tales

Despite the crowding and occasional rudenesses I do like public transit. Today I was standing next to an adorable, sweet-natured family who were being nice to each other: pale, pretty blonde mother, sweet-faced Black father, and two adorable caramel-colored children, an effusive 2-year-old and a shy 1-year-old. I joined several other women in cooing over and waving to the children, of course. *grin* I always make a practice of smiling at interracial couples, especially ones where one partner is a Black man, because a disproportionate amount of the disapproval such couples recieve is often from Black people, especially Black women, and I try to do my part to counteract that kind of thing. This family would have been impossible *not* to smile at, though. They were just darling.
Later, I arrived at Wolf and Tigerlily's to pick up and drop off and so on, and when I walked down the hill a couple pushing two strollers waved at me: it was the family from the train! I waved back and called hi.
*beam*
(And then, WD not only picked me up but drove me by Wolf and Tigerlily's so I could make sure I hadn't left the door open. *smooch for WD*)
