and all my friends go nuts in their journals. You people are posting machines.

So, we had a snow day yesterday after all. Joy and snowball fights for the kids, phonecalls by the bushel for me and Tigerlily :) And yes, the snow is indeed pretty. A bitch to walk through, but pretty.

So, the rest of yesterday. I was a little blue by the time I left work, so I took a winding path through the city on my way home, buying a card and walking in the snow at Park Street. When I got home the place was dark and WD was sound asleep; I kissed him gently and picked up the Blueberry Scone Cookies I'd made the previous night.

Then I went meet up with a couple of friends to be taken out to sushi because they are incredibly nifty people who think I did a good job at something. *beam*. I am very grateful to have been invited, to have been given a ride, to have been fed quantities of raw tasty fish. Yay sushi, and yay friends. :) During the sushi run [livejournal.com profile] gosling and I discussed people such as her and WD who pretty much only like their fish raw, and reasons why. But more on that in a contemplation of sushi later.

After that I went to a small gathering at [livejournal.com profile] roozle's, which was also really nifty. But she is nifty, and her husband is nifty, and her children are all nifty in their individual ways, and their house is cold nifty. So there we go. They had a fire in their wee fireplace, and Roozle gave me a box of Arisia papers that were in the recycling pile for me to pitch into the fire; that was very satisfying, especially when I found paperwork from certain names in the pile and burnt it with glee. Burning things became a party game, which was highly amusing.

Once I was done burning things I had two or three or twenty glasses of wine, and the S'cookies (as someone dubbed them) went over very well, and Wolf and Tigerlily kindly gave me a ride home so I could sleep next to my WD, so I was happy :) I am still happy, if slightly hungover. *laugh at myself*

If I ever get my lazy ass offline I will draw for a bit before heading to Wolf and Tigerlily's to go up for dinner at [livejournal.com profile] tendyl's. I'm making bread dough to bring, since I lack butter, cream, and the desire to go shopping (hence no chocolately dessert) (OK, yes, you can make chocolatey desserts without butter and cream. But I feel uninspired to do so).

Or maybe I'll do nothing useful. Dolce far niente. :)

yum yum ...

Most foods are differ greatly between raw and cooked. I like cooked onions (where that includes certain kinds of pickling); I'm really not a fan of raw onions. I love sushi; I will now grudgingly eat cooked fish.. maybe. (it depends on the type of fish and how it's been cooked and other things like that. I like tunafish sandwhiches. I like Unagi. Other fish is on a more case by case basis.) Though I've loved shellfish for a long time, but that's different from finny fish.

I have other friends who hate raw tomatos but like tomato sauce or dishes that involve cooked tomatos.
