So
_dahne_'s post calling for an end to social justice in fandom is being much discussed. I took down my post from yesterday, which was more emotional and disorganized than I like, and instead of rewriting it I'll link to this response at
foc_u.
Also,
brighteyed_jill has linked to the sensible post, On Having That Conversation. This is the post that
_dahne_ purports to have written, but hers is very much not.
Now, having said all that, I'm going to go work on a story for my next post here.

Date: 2011-01-23 04:45 am (UTC)I personally thought that was something that (X > 1) number of people try to pound into the heads of AS kids (or at least me): not everyone reacts to things the same way you do. Not everyone notices what you notice. People can have different feelings about the same event. Whether or not that changes what you do, that is another story.
It's the 'changing what you do' bit that makes people uncomfortable.
