Independence Day!

It's the Fourth of July! I should say something profound about this country, of my birth ad citizenship, of my parents' hopes and my ancestors' tears, about where we've been and where we're going.

I'm also kind of loopy on cold meds, lying in my bed as I type this, so I think I'll leave the profundities to someone else today. I will lie here, in my own bed, in a household with people who love me and whose hearts resemble mine regardless of whether our faces don't, and be glad of all my freedoms and rest up to work towards a more open and free society for everyone.

Or something. As soon as my head clears.
