White House Down

So WD kindly and bravely made a major sacrifice for me tonight.
He gave up over two hours of his life to take me to see White House Down, which movie I now summarize as "A side of cornfed American beef ably defends an expy of President Obama from an attempted takeover by Grumpy Old White Men, with assistance from his eleven-year-old-daughter, who has the biggest balls in the cast."
I feel a bit guilty because I was entertained by that piece of ridiculousness, a swiss cheese plot garnished with explosions and Channing Tatum's bare arms (and Maggie Gyllenhaal being wonderfully competent), but WD, who has an analytical mind, wants those two hours back. So I also feel very loved that he gave them up for me.
*giggles helplessly*
Warning: There's a fair amount of violence, much of which said eleven-year-old girl witnesses and/or is threatened with: the few moments when the movie actually got under my skin were all about her being in peril. Also, the plot is an egregiously liberal-leaning political fable, which I greatly enjoyed but which may well annoy others.
