So. When do I bake?

This coming weekend is 3 days long, which is doable but tight; I would rather not stress myself by baking nonstop all weekend. Next weekend I'm traveling *wave to someone who Knows Who He Is :D* Then there are two weekends, and then November; I want to bake in October so the fruitcskes are well aged by November.

So. I could:

  • Cut fruit and bake this coming weekend. Busy, but done soon.
  • Cut fruit this coming weekend, let it soak a couple of weeks, and bake the weekend of the 20th. Again, busy.
  • Cut fruit this coming weekend and spread the baking over the 20th and 27th. Less busy, but runs the risk of not being done by November if anything goes wrong.

*contemplates*

(I want to plan this so I can then plan seeing people, among other reasons.)

Do the last. It will leave you saner. And you can make the 27th the non-alcohol fruitcakes and ones which don't need to cure as long.

This... and even if production runs late, it's not like people will object to having them in December!

The last one. I'm fairly sure anyone worthy of recieving your fruitcakes of awesome will be fine if they need to wait a little for them. If something goes wrong at all.

I am so jealous of said peoples!

OMG so yes! I adore fruitcake and I can even promise my wyfe will eat some! However, if it will in any way add to your stress level, you are to rule me out and know that I will not be wounded or insulted, k?

I'm for option three. Seems the least stressful. :)

Love you.

Here's another vote for the last option. If necessary, the beneficiaries of your generosity will certainly understand a "best after" date. :-)

A "Best after" date! That's an excellent idea!
