I have a mix in my work iTunes labeled "Music Power Up Mix". The last ten songs it played on random shuffle this morning:

Re: Your Brains by Jonathan Coulton
Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee by Buffy St. Marie, covered by The Indigo Girls
Carry On Wayward Son by [whomever], covered by The Madison Project
Fortunate Son by CCR, covered by the Dropkick Murphys (this was intentionally added to the otherwise random shuffle)
Ebay by Weird Al
In the Neolithic Age by Kipling and Fish
Major Tom by Shiny Toy Guns
Dulaman by Celtic Women
Run (I'm a Natural Disaster) by Gnarls Barkley
Defying Gravity, the Glee cover by Chris Colfer

And it's currently playing Starlight as covered by Kate Voegele with Jobson's Amen (another Kipling ad Fish collaboration) coming up next.

"Carry On My Wayward Son" is by Kansas (who also did "Dust in the Wind" and "Point of Know Return") -- or is this a different song, absent "My"?

Interesting mix. I don't know half of the songs, and given the ones I do know, I may have to look up some of these artists. Thanks!

The song actually doesn't have the "My" in the title, for some reason.

Heh. So it does(n't). I'm so used to it having the "My" on concert recording tracklists that I never thought to check the album. Thanks.

Hey, thank you for telling me the original artist of "Carry On Wayward Son"!

Even though I *know* you're a filk afficionado when I stop and remember, every time I see you listing filk artists or songs it just makes me giggle and want to both hug you and make you come over to my house with your music collection and show you my scratchy old cassette mix tapes of random stuff so we can trade gems.

That would be SO AWESOME. And we could cook together and romp with the cats!
