I need to do this for my comic books, I think. (Mid-2000s, DC Comics, Teen Titans and assorted Batfamily.) I haven't found anyone to donate them to, and my fannish interests have shifted. (But hey, if you want them, let me know. They're not in any kind of collectible state, just readable.)

I'd probably be interested, but I probably HAVE all the same stuff you do. I organized them recently, and will be picking up the last few months' tonight, but have only read a handful in the last year or two...

Yeah, you likely do. Mine are about 2000-2007 or so.

I would totally take you up on this (because I only have comics from the last year or so) but I'm limited on space as it is, so I'll just hope you find a good home for them. :)

Also, sending them across the seas sounds a bit impractical. If I were still in comics fandom I would introduce you to other fans in the UK.

Hm.

I could take them, and then once I"d read them, donate them to Boomerangs. (Which sells stuff and gives the profits to AIDS Action.)

Do you think they'd get any value out of such recent comics, though?

Well, they sell them for I think 50 cents. (Or possibly $1, I forget.) They do seem to sell them fairy quickly, though.

But I'd go with Just-A-Start. Actual kids trump collector-adults.

I donated my comics to a group home for teens (except my Love and Rockets and Preacher and Transmetropolitan and Watchmen</>). Maybe the Just-A-Start House in Somerville might like them?

I will poke at their website till I find a contact person! Thanks for the idea!

Ohh, I like that much better.

(Or Respond, which is a battered women's shelter in Somerville; allows kids. I don't know anything about it otherwise.)

I have an embarrassing number of inactive hobbies. Though I do ressurect them from time to time after years of inactivity. Frinstance, I guess I'm not likely to build another N-scale train layout in my lifetime, but I can't bear the thought of disposing of the rolling stock and track.

That makes sense; I haven't disposed of my drawing supplies, either. But I think I'm done with the comics.

Thanks for the postcard! It's posted on my file cabinet now :)

Yeah...I tend to cycle in and out of hobbies but there are some hobbies that have been in an Off phase for a really long time now. Need to resume decluttering efforts!
