Three Heartening Links

For a rainy groggy Friday.
5 year old Bob absolutely rocked his Daphne costume for Hallowe'en this year. His mom wrote a fierce blog post about her dedication to letting him be who he wants to be, not what preconceived notions people might impose on him. About half the comments are supportive, which is a remarkably high percentage considering.
blcwriter sent me this beautiful poem: I Wish I Had More Sisters. It really gripped my heart with that sweet pain of recognition, and I pass it on for all my siblings of mind and heart.
Bishop John Shelby Spong "will no longer engage the biblical ignorance that emanates from so many right-wing Christians about how the Bible condemns homosexuality, as if that point of view still has any credibility. " I've been meaning to post this for awhile -- if you've heard my witterings about my evangelical Christian upbringing you know what a statement like this means to me, and if you haven't, just know that I heartily, heartily approve.
And now, on to my day.
