Boston RENT!

RENT is coming to Boston! (http://www.siteforrent.com) Jul 14-Jul 26, Colonial Theater. A quick perusal of the ticket prices reveals most to be in the $35-70 range.

I am so tempted. I'm not sure I should -- there is the small matter of being financially prudent and paying such bills as my own rent -- but I've always wanted to see the stage version (Christmas Bells!). And my next long weekend falls during this time range.

I'm really, really tempted.

i noticed that last week; can't afford it, but....not only would you be seeing it, you'd be seeing Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal. SO. WORTH. IT.

I'd go in a second if I could raise the $, but I've seen it 5 times, so while a 6th would make me happy, i can live. But you totally should go.

I had suggested the possibility of ushering, but a quick call confirmed that the Colonial now has paid ushers, not volunteers. Poo.

Not just "Christmas Bells," but several other scenes which were either left out of the movie ("Goodbye Love," and its preceding scene between Mark and Roger) or reconfigured in such a way as to change their meaning ("Will I Lose My Dignity?")

If you decide you cannot afford to go,you might consider purchasing the DVD of the last Broadway performance -- it's $15.99.

Wait -- Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal are touring in this? Hot damn. Wow. This would be so worth it. I wish I could go.
