Four Years Ago, Four Years Ahead

It's Election Day. I had to write something.


Four years ago, I wrote, near the end of a rather sad entry, "Illinois has a new senator, and we may yet see good things from him. I would dearly love to vote for him."

Today, not least with Tigerlily's help (because she is good to me, she's picking me up from work, then dropping me near to where I can get to my appointment) I will.

Four years from now, if I'm still here, I'll reread these words I've written, and smile.

There was a quiet, barely-contained excitement, a sense of purpose, a sense of being a part of history. Obama is not my candidate, but it warms my soul to see it.

I believe Obama won by like 80 percent back then in Illinois :) I hope that he has just as much of a landslide today!
