Let's go for something life-affirming. I saw this in [livejournal.com profile] dakiwiboid's journal as well. *waves to her*

Tigers and Strawberries (syndicated to LJ here) has written a Vegetarian answer to The Omnivore's 100. I think I've eaten more of these than off the other list!

[livejournal.com profile] dakiwiboid's sensible rules:
1) Copy this list into your blog or journal, including these instructions.
2) Bold all the items you’ve eaten.
3) Cross out any items that you would never consider eating.
4) Italicize any item you'll never eat again.
5) Asterisk any items you'd be willing to try but have not yet.
6) Mention the original source
7) Post only behind an LJ cut!

And as ever, I have to add a notation for what I've cooked: I'll use a #.

90. Ma Po Tofu
91. Fresh pasta in any form#

I love this one

It turns out that most everyone who sees it has eaten tons of the food on this list! [livejournal.com profile] tigerberries says that she's leaving it up to someone else to make a Vegan's 100. I imagine that list will surface within a couple of weeks. These lists are so much fun!

I suck.

My HTML doesn't work, and I don't know why. Specifically, my [/b] tag is not working (where [=<, etc). At any rate, assume that I've eaten something unless it's italicised, crossed out, or asterisked.

I've had nice fresh off the vine tomatoes filled with garlic and herbs, mushrooms, and a bit of rice. Top it off with Parmesan, and it's really tasty. You need very fresh tomatoes to make it work properly.

My post is liked above. I've eated 89 of the 100, and only dislike one so much that I wouldn't eat it again. I got sick after eating Tempeh, and can't bear the thought. (I don't think getting sick was related to the tempeh, but still, the body says no.)

I've at least tried everything on that list except pawpaw and the vegetable thai curry. (Note, I've had plenty of Thai coconut milk curries, but they all had some kind of meat in them.)

In general, I don't like eggplant, avocados, or peppers (bell or hot, though I cna deal with a little bit of the hot ones). So, if it doesn't include those, figure I'd probably eat it again, though some I like better than others. (And this does presume that the version being served isn't triggering my allergy to tumeric.) Also, Muhammara, I've had one place where I really liked it, and one place where it was kind of overwhelmed by the pepper taste. Also, both places I had it spelled it slightly differently in different ways, though I honestly can not remember how it was spelled in each case any more.

It should probably be noted that Ma Po Tofu is often not vegetarian. There are a lot of versions which include groud pork.
