I'm not going to try to list everything I'm thankful for, but here are some highlights:

That I live here and now; Western society still has many problems, but I've found a pretty good place, all told, to be a fat Black unmarried woman of moderately independent means. I look at my life, from my books to my bank account, and think of all the places and times when I wouldn't have had some, any, or all of what I do.
That I live now and here, in a time and place where we're actively working to learn more about the universe around us, from the far past to the distant future. I find that quest for knowledge one of the best facets of being human.
That I'm not a child anymore. I love being an adult so much more.
The people around me I have to be an adult with. :)
The fact that my job has gotten so much better in the last year.
The household I live in; as I write this Joshlet and I are hanging out together.
WD, who has truly become my family.
My health. It's not perfect, but it's generally good, and I have learned to appreciate that so much more this past year.

And last but absolutely certainly not least, I am thankful for all of you my friends, who are so very good to me. *blows kisses*
