Two nifty things

The day ahead of me is going to be long, (and it won't be helped by my insomnia, and yet here I am not sleeping) but/so I wanted to post a couple of lovely things.
Some wonderful anonymous person gave me teddy bears hugging on my userinfo. I squeed aloud when I first saw them, I honestly did.
Meanwhile, two dedicated, hardcore fans of Patrick O'Brian's Aubreyad have produced an amazing cookbook of the food in the books, called Lobscouse and Spotted Dog. The webpage is packed to the gills with excerpts, information, and wittily written recipes; the book must be that much more splendiferous.

Date: 2007-08-15 08:10 am (UTC)It's quite depressing to realise, right at the start of a new obsession, that you will never be the most dedicated fan. Because I may be prepared to eat Spotted Dog and I may think Lobscouse looks quite tasty but I am NEVER going to eat rats. (Although I may be influenced by having had pet rats. Although I've been willing to eat horse in the past, so possibly not.)
