A few things that happened to me today, mostly good:
So, aside of the UNENDING FREAKING JURY DUTY it was not at all a bad day.
- I rode in with Tigerlily in the morning, which was nifty.
- For the second day in a row the conductor had pity on me and didn't charge me the tickets-on-a-train surcharge.
- I did not actually fall asleep at jury duty.
- I did however find out that jury duty will last till next Tuesday. ARGH. I would feel better if the trial were remotely worthwhile, but more on that after it's over.
- I got a ride to the T from my favorite fellow juror, the nice friendly foodie lady.
- I helped a blind man named Dwight to get from North Station Commuter Rail to North Station MBTA (more difficult than it sounds, as the two buildings are separated by a big street and a couple of blocks). He's a musician, and was very nice, and by helping him through the gate I accidentally got on the T for free.
- Another man told me I'm the most beautiful woman he's ever seen. I replied, "I can't possibly be, but thank you very much."
- I swung by work, where BJ hugged me, the Redheaded Stepchild upbraided me, and everyone who saw me told me they missed me a whooooole lot. *blush*
- My email and LJ friendslists were full of much yay and only a couple "with friends like these" moments. And hey, life is like that.
- My cabbie was very cheerful, and told me about what good friends he is with his ex wife.
- And I came home. Yay home. :D
