"Craptastic Bore"

browngirlTat's WD's take on the "Fantastic Four" movie, and I completely agree with him.
I feel bad, because I should really (under the idea of promoting the good rather than the bad) have written about how much I loved Batman Begins.
I feel bad, because if I lay out my reasons for hating the F4 movie people will say I'm taking a comic book movie too seriously, that I'm humorless and looking to be insulted.
I feel bad, because I really *wanted* to like it.
I feel bad, because I remember how dismayed I was when I read reviews of Revenge of the Sith that all but said "if you like this movie you are not a feminist". I don't want to make other people feel that way.
But my word. I haven't watched such a cliched, characterized-by-stereotype, anti-intellectual, antifeminist, obnoxious movie in a long long time. (And my God the technobabble was actively painful to someone like me with a small amount of scientific training.)
And Johnny Storm is exactly the kind of American, man, and American man I despise.
This is the sort of thing that makes me think Plato may have had a point about wanting to get rid of plays rather than dramatize and thus glorify bad examples. *that's* how much I hated it.
