_samalander and echoinautumn (also, S's nifty roommate and the four beautiful cats who own them). As I wind down from traveling, I thought I'd write a short post about really enjoying ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
hobbit_kink. I really love the breadth and range of the prompts and fills, not least the ones about expanding the universe, the ones that call for underutilized canon female characters and genderswap and OFCs, the ones that go beyond that to explore conceptions and performance of gender in Dwarven and other cultures, the ones that call for sympathetic orcs, and so on. I love seeing fandom's collective imagination spread to be wider than the sky. (Not to mention the LOTRenaissance that the mods presciently made a space for -- hooray for all the Legolas/Gimli and other LOTR and Silmarillion prompts and tales!) I'm having a lovely time there, and I hope to soon start editing the fills I've written and posting them here and to AO3.
