... of course, one of the reasons I write these stories is so I can sleep. I have a rule for myself that if the non-con story I'm working on doesn't make me cry I haven't written it well enough. I don't follow this every time -- "The Dark Beside You" had me mostly grinning as I anticipated writing the denouement -- but I cry for Leah. It's the least I can do, to try to write truly even when I'm writing a fantastical universe.
