The first sentence: Jim is brilliant, and soaking wet. The last sentence: "Winslow? Still a virgin." The thing that made me want to write it: Like Jim, the idea came to me in the shower. The biggest problem I had while writing it/Why it almost never got posted: I had trouble thinking of how to convey the montage scenes. Not to mention the inevietable monogamy issues. The scene that hit the cutting room floor: I almost let Jim get Ensign Winslow, but the story really wouldn't've been nearly as funny if I had. Something else that I want readers to know: How did you know my estimate for the Enterprise's crew complement is 400-450?
