So, the long-awaited reason David and Colby were just that bit worried that Amita might tear David's head off is that back when David spent some time with Charlie and Amita whole Colby was away in falsified disgrace (this is definetely a sequel to that), the conversations didn't really tend to specifics of when and how it would be okay for him to sleep with one of them without the other. She *could* have said with some justification, "so I go missing, in mortal peril, and you promptly drag my boyfriend off to bed?" But I like writing her as generous of spirit and able to see what David was doing.
