Eee, I adore your comments, I do. I think this was more fun to read than my drabble! It took me awhile to stop imagining Don's thigh with bite marks on it and actually write a *reply* to this.
The Charlie of my Charlie/Don stories does have that insecurity about Don, in part because in this fictional universe he knows that the years Don spent away from their family are in part because of their intermittent affair and Don's attempts to escape it (I write on the "they've been doing this, including swearing it off, over and over for years" model.) Neither of them would be doing this if it were just lust; they could probably find people who resemble each other (and have, and one day I'm so writing those stories). But no one else is Don for Charlie or Charlie for Don.
If I get around to writing more gen about Don and Charlie (which I hope to) I'm going to explore how that insecurity and entanglement comes out when it's not in an illicit incestuous affair. But this version is dirty wrong fun. ;)
