No, I know. Mostly what I was trying to say was that rubynye puts it much more... positively, I guess, than I've been seeing it put. Firefly and LotR in particular... I don't know, seem to wind up as bones of contention between the dopey defenders you're talking about and the people who apparently hate the entire thing because of the points where it fails.
Which makes me sad, as a watcher/reader, because I enjoy both those things despite their flaws, not because I don't think they have any.
