Mocha Swirl Bark
Jan. 25th, 2016 09:58 pmI really like this one and wanted to write it down so I can make it again with various flavoring powders. <lj-cut>
1 pound white choclate, white chocolate chips, etc
1 tbsp espresso powder
1 4-oz bar baking chocolate
1 4-oz bar sweet, semissweet, or milk chocolate
1/4 cup decorative candies (nonpareils, M&Ms, etc)
1/4 cup marshmallow bits (optional)
Spread a sheet of parchment paper inside a quarter sheet pan or 13 x 9 baking pan.
Arrange the decorative candies across the pan. Turn them so their prettiest side is facing down, if necessary (this will be the top of the finished bark)
Place 1 cup chopped white chocolate/chips/etc in a glass bowl and microwave, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted. Drizzle over the decorative candies in a web sort of pattern: you don't need (or want) to fill the whole surface.
Sift teh espresso powder into the bowl, put another cup of white choclate on top, and microwave aand stir until melted. Drizzle over the white chocolate on the pan.
Break up the b aking and sweet chocolates and put in the bowl with the remaining white choclate. Before melting, if using the marshmallows, sprinkle them over the white and coffee chocolates (this will provide sweet bursts).
Melt the remaining chocolate and pour it over the white and coffee chocolate web, covering completely. Cover with another shoeet of parchment and pat gently to smooth and even out the base. Set aside until fully solid.
....now, what shall I use for the flavor powder next batch? Powdered raspberries? mint and blue food color? Cinnamon and a pinch of cayenne? *contemplates*
