Which snuck up on me somehow!

Ada Lovelace was mathematician and the world's first computer programmer. [livejournal.com profile] dglenn posted a quotation from her which resonated with me so much in this Information Age: "I never am really satisfied that I understand anything; because, understand it well as I may, my comprehension can only be an infinitesimal fraction of all I want to understand about the many connections and relations which occur to me, how the matter in question was first thought of or arrived at, etc., etc."

I am fortunate and lazy. I know a bunch of scientists and engineers who are women, not least on LJ *wave to my friends, whom I would list except that I'd inevitably leave someone out and that would be bad* Happy Ada Lovelace Day!
