reena_jenkins is doing the Amplificathon, and chose one of my stories to read in her gorgeous voice with her pitch-perfect delivery, and as if that weren't glorious enough, to illustrate as well!! She podficced my "Oh Water Hot" (where Bilbo and Thorin take a bath together) and it's listed here amongst her latest batch of splendors . Other stories she podficced include: Buffy and Natasha Romanoff bonding; the Hogwarts Squid romancing Orthanc; mutants as Loki's children; Ianto works for/with/over SHIELD; explorations of death, gender, and life with Fili and Kili; and so, so much more in fantoms ranging from Teen Wolf to Bandom to the Stargate series to Firefly. Seriously, go wallow in the glories.

petra is writing a Les Miserables modern AU tale, Les Amis de le QUILTBAG . It is made of win and glory and Tweets.
Last but not least: I was thinking recently about what I love in fandom, and then stumbled across this marvelous cosplay of Dis, Princess Under the Mountain, sister of Thorin Oakenshield and mother of Fili and Kili. I love cosplay, where people decide to dress up as their favorite characters and do it, just for love. (I dare any asshole to call THIS woman a "fake geek girl".) This combination of enthusiasm, skill, and love, done just for the heck of it, just to share with fellow fans, depicts everything I love about fandom.
I had more to say but I lost my train of thought so I'm going to go back to listening to podfic.
