I was looking for something topical to post on this (USAian) Labor Day, either by myself or by someone else, when I found that catsittingstill has written a true and nifty song. For me, I mean my thanks not just historically but personally -- the union I belong to has helped me more than once. ( Thank The Unions by Cat Faber )
