Thursday Link Hodgepodge
Mar. 1st, 2012 10:35 amTo start off, a heroine whom
_samalander told me about:
Hazel Ying Lee, "the first Chinese American woman to fly for the United States military."
An introduction to quince, that fruit I'm always going on about.
Recap/reviews of The Supersizers Go by an entertaining blogger. Also from her keyboard, a lovely essay about her father and the movie Tampopo, and the first time I've ever heard of salt koji, a fermented rice product with similar umami flavors to miso but without the gluten.
From food to love: Monogamy Isn't For Everyone; Polyamory Isn't Going To Ruin The World.
An article on microbibliophilia. I have to admit, the idea of a library that fits in a shoebox does stir my soul.
The Complete Penguin Classics Library. I admit, if I had an excuse to buy all these (such as kitting out a new library) I would be tickled.
Last but absolutely not least: What Google's new privacy policy means for you.
