Chromatic Vision's Drabbleathon

(I've been full of announcements recently, I know. I should have some fic ready to go soon, I do hope.)

"Chromatic Vision will be hosting a two week drabblethon from October 1st to October 14th. This event, like our previous events, is for all fandoms and all ratings, and RPS is more than welcomed. We want to see not only written drabbles, but drawbles and iconbles (2-4 icons of the same image with different textures/texts/colors/etc) as well."

*bounces excitedly*

Signal Boost -- Keep Saying Yes To Gay YA

Now that "the other side" has spoken up, there are more and more people claiming hoaxitude about rachelmanija and sartorias's report of being told to straighten a gay character in their YA novel. cleolinda has written an excellent post about how and why it is not at all a hoax.

(There is a whole discussion to be had about intentions vs actions and how someone can promote an attitude they don't share through their acquiescence to it, but I'll get into that another day.)

bikergeek, who encourages me wonderfully, told me about Ms. Aevin Dugas, LICSW, who has the world's largest natural afro. The pictures on this article are a little goofy (I want to smack the scissors away) but the article is nifty and Ms. Dugas is gorgeous, as is her hair!
