Show Some Love To The Women The Fandom Hates

akzseinga is hosting the "WE LOVE THE WOMEN THAT THE FANDOM HATES" fest from this Friday to next Friday. The rules are at the link; to summarize, one claims a character (three claims per character per language) and posts something about her each day of the upcoming week.

I'm delighted to see favorite characters of mine already appearing on the claims list, especially those who've gotten double doses of hatred for being both female and of color, such as Miss Angel Salvadore, Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, and Dr. Martha Jones. I will be very busy in the next few weeks but I'm very tempted to claim Mistress Rosie Cotton Gamgee, as she's the first female character I really loved that I saw reviled in my then-main fandom, whose fans I saw reviled along with her. (Or maybe while I'm at it I'll claim Amita Ramanujan, Ph.D.) Meanwhile, I absolutely must signal-boost this marvelous effort.
