What Would You Do With Cranberry Powder?
Jan. 27th, 2009 08:30 amSo, I bought some freeze dried fruit (brand named Simply [Fruit]) from Nuts Online, thinking to powder it for use as an all natural food colorant/flavorant. That worked pretty well in cookies, using strawberries and elderberries for red. I may try raspberries or cherries next (which goes better with chocolate, do you think?)
Among the fruits I bought are freeze dried cranberries. Like all the freeze dried fruits it has a lovely fresh fruit flavor combined with the horrifyingly moisture-sucking texture of a rice cake. Another powdered application -- but in what? I'm not actually all that fond of fresh cranberries in baked goods. What else would be good with cranberry powder added?
