This was my Yuletide Treat, written in ~24 hours, which for me is maniacally fast. I wrote it to Ziho's excellent prompt, "Something set between The Forty-Niners and the main timeline; how did they get from 'We'll never last,' to fifty-plus years together?" It's not perfect by any means, but I'm not displeased with it.
