Hemingway's Shortest Story
Oct. 19th, 2007 01:43 pmI may have finally found a piece of Hemingway's writing that I like! From Wikipedia's article on Absinthe:
Death in the Afternoon
"Pour one jigger absinthe into a Champagne glass. Add iced Champagne until it attains the proper opalescent milkiness. Drink three to five of these slowly."
I think just one would be entirely sufficient for me, however.
PS: A poster satirizing the ban on absinthe. Not worksafe, and I don't think this would get put up in a public space today (or am I being a prudish 'Murrican?)
