Shallow Me and the Doctor

cheshyre* There's a lot to recommend it to me (not least Mickey and Captain Jack and Rose herself; I've been wannting to write a long thinky entry about the show, but this is not that) but I feel slightly guilty.
You see, I have always been blessed with Doctor Who fans in my life; the boy across the fence when I was a kid, my college roommate, etc. When I was younger, I realized that I'd be fond of Doctor Who if it had, well, nifty special effects. I love special effects. [deletes pagelong encomium to visual special effects]
Guess what? Now there's a Doctor Who series with nifty special effects. And I love it.
I feel rather shallow.
