The Right of Conscience
Jul. 20th, 2006 11:16 amRecently, I've been hearing more and more about people in medicine and allied health wanting the "right of conscience", the ability to refuse to perform actions that would ordinarily be considered part of their job if those actions conflict with their religious beliefs. Or, to be precise, the ability to refuse to perform those actions and suffer no consequences.
osewalrus has a wonderful answer to such people, which I'm not going to attempt to summarize. I wish I could print it and send it to my aunt who proudly told me how as a nurse she proselytized to her patients. ( more of my thoughts )
