Thoughts on possibly getting into a new fandom

[first off:thank you, everyone who replied to my entry yesterday. I'll be writing these over my Winter Holiday Vacation, for the most part.]

So, I have gotten myself a new fandom, it seems. Right now there are a couple of good TV shows (Static Shock, Justice League, Teen Titans)based on the DC Comics Universe, of which I’ve become a fan. Those shows led me to discovering comics titles I hadn’t known about (such as all the iterations of “Teen Titans”) and the fascinating world of comics fandom online..

I’ve done this before, with fandoms ranging from Harry Potter to Horatio Hornblower. None have diminished my essential love of hobbits, and neither has this. The difference now is that I’m contemplating writing fics (well, besides drabbles, of which I have one written and one upcoming) in this universe, which means learning enough about the universe to do so competently.
