Five Things Tales, theory and practice

So, I've been reading a lot of fanfic recently *laugh at myself* and contemplating the "Five things" sort of story, where one writes five thematically connected vignettes. I like vignettes, most likely too much, so I want to write some of these.

But first I want to learn about them, so I know what I'm doing.

Are there any archives of "Five Things" stories, or essays in people's journals about them, or so on? I'd appreciate any theories, thoughts, and information.
