Unexpected Friends

The woman who I think is my single favorite parent here (even beating out the guy who gave me a bottle of wine, which is quite a compliment) just called and asked me all about how I am for five solid minutes, and told me she and her daughter miss me, before asking me the question she'd called about.

I was looking for a job where my coworkers would like me; I hadn't expected to find friends among the parents too.
