I'm not sure whether the lesson I should take from the ordeal of this woman and the two girls is

• Don't trust the US justice system, its goal is to find people to jail, not the actual perpetrators of crimes.
  
• Don't use ATM machines.
  
• Don't trust crime TV shows, as *their* goal is to find people to jail, not the actual perpetrators of crimes.
  

Maybe all three.

Someone needs a time-out

I just said something quite cranky *and* impolitic with my out-loud voice. Fortunately, the only person who heard what I said agreed to un-hear it, but still. I know better. I'm just cranky right now.
