First, the specific: Description of the rally in Austin, TX by an attendee (whose blog professional political organization looks to be well worth reading though I haven't gone through it all yet). The article mentions the El Paso redistricting battles that may end up prompting another examination/a possible restrengthening of the Voting Rights Act. These issues are related, after all.
Then the general: I've been meaning to write an essay about My Thoughts on Feminism and Intersectionality but sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.

There are some people who say that such considerations are a dilution of feminism, but I think (not least because of who I personally am) that considering these intersections makes feminism stronger, more robust, and better able to advance the causes of liberty and equality.
[I had told myself I was going to dial back on the politics this week, because last week I actually fretted myself into physical symptoms, but finding these articles and this poster in such close conjunction were just too good to pass up. Besides, these are important issues. With people marching and agitating and fighting, should I let myself ignore what's going on for even awhile? Can I?]
