Speaking of Movies: Hysteria

WD and I went to see Hysteria last week, and since then I haven't had a chance to write about it; by now my recollections are kind of fuzzy, so this isn't a properly detailed review.
I did love it, though, perhaps more than it deserves (the plot was not terribly surprising, and all resolved more happily than was really likely). You know that hideously bandied-about term "feel-good"? This movie actually deserves it. Even though much of the humor was based in embarassment, it was a sweet kind of laughing-with humor that didn't set off my embarassment squick. And, well, it was wonderful to see a movie about women's orgasms; for all the alleged sexual explicitness of many modern movies, it's still notable to see actual female sexuality addressed. There's a scene that showcases the female gaze in a way that made me want to stand up and cheer.
Plus, the credits feature a montage of vibrators through the decades.
So I give it two perky nipples up, or whatever. :D
