You wouldn't think that after Monday and Tuesday I would need anything cheerfulness-inducing for awhile, but I had a pile of links I meant to post last week, and I thought they'd do just as well for today, and with additions.

Everyone calm down, the Presidential Oath has been retaken.
Faffints. Beautifully painted faffints.

US Airways Flight 1549 . People keep calling it a miracle, but the more I think about it... if it's a miracle, it's the kind people make for ourselves. Captain Sullenberger accomplished a feat of flying beyond compare, and then the crew and passengers stayed calm, acted quickly and in concert with the rescuing boats to get everyone out. Everyone did their very best, and the result was amazing -- not a single person died when reasonable expectation would have been that many if not most would have.
From
sparkymonster: Miriam Tigrist Green has a wonderful dad who has learned how to braid her hair. Trust me, as someone who is learning herself how to take care of unprocessed Black hair, I can tell you that he undertook a major and wonderful project in learning how to care for her hair.
I got the image in my new icon from here. (Speaking of hair, it's based on a photo of me right after I stopped relaxing my hair.)
A favorite prayer of mine from Tuesday. *beams and waves*

anahata56: no arrests were made during the Inauguration. WOW. I am so impressed with every person who, by not being an asshole, brought that to pass.
Last but certainly not least, I cannot stop looking at this picture of our new President and First Lady. It's just one of many, but they just look amazing.
