Spaceship View & Character Detail Meme

Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day is a video arranging photographs by the Cassini spacecraft into views of what flying towards/by Saturn would look like. It's stunning and inspiring.

Meanwhile, I do so love memes, not least at moments right now when I'm afflicted with Writer's Slowdown or something. I got this from the incomparable [livejournal.com profile] igrockspock: Ask me about a pairing (or character) I have written (or haven't and you think I should write) and I will give you five facts about them or a ficlet or a song that is CLEARLY THEIR SONG or what they order from the Chinese place down the street, etc, etc.
ETA [livejournal.com profile] sharpestscalpel wrote an absolutely gorgeous ficlet about Gaila taking McCoy flying, and Gaila and her life.

Not sure if M!Kirk/Leah is diferent than Kirk/McCoy, if so then that's my choice. If not, how about Kirk/McCoy/Gaila?

Mirror!Kirk/Leah totally counts!

Five facts:
1. At least three people asked Kirk if they could borrow Leah. He only killed one of them; he only said yes to one (Pike). His 'no's were pretty emphatic, though.
2. I know he has honest to goodness given her at least two nice surprises besides unchipping Joanna. I just haven't thought of it.
3. When he is really stressed, sometimes Kirk will get Leah alone, put her in a chair, and put his head on her lap in a silent demand to have his hair stroked. They both view it as a huge indulgence.
4. Do you remember Terwilliger from "A Star Quaking"? Kirk eventually took her on an away mission from which she didn't return. Leah wasn't pleased, not leats with her own relief.
5. Leah is the one who pronounces Kirk dead, and I do intend to write that story one day.

But here's a Gaila/Kirk/McCoy fact as well: The next day after "Time Trials" when Jim and Leonard played 'who can make Gaila come faster' -- Leonard won. And she wrapped her legs around his head and refused to let him stop there.

#5 actually makes me profoundly sad. Because I feel like my heart is really in the mirror universe with them making their lives as best as they can given their world.

OF COURSE Leonard won.

*laughs sadly* It makes me sad too, but... I always knew she'd survive him, even though/because she doesn't expect to. And now I've started figuring out a story.

And how did I miss commenting on this? WTH self?

Anyway, #3 is sad in that it shows how much he needs her and really cares, but that he feels he has to force her.

And, I don't know if I want to read #5.

*sigh* It's so messed up, but I love him, you know. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near him, but you've made me care for him.

Thank you for the 'extra'. :D My god that's an image that will linger and keep me smiling all day!

*hugs*
