2005 Fruitcake Offer, Mark 1

So here we have the 2005 Fruitcake Offer. *throws confetti, dances about*

The fruitcakes are listed here, my previous post. Incidentally, they are all the size of a large muffin, about 1 cup of batter or a little less.

So. I'm taking the first 25 respondents to this post. I need for you to tell me in a comment here:

1) What fruitcake you would like
2) any special instructions (no liquor, gluten free)

I ALSO need for you to drop me an email (browngirl at livejournal dot com) with your lj name, name, and mailing address. Yes, even if I know them and have them and stuff. Yes, even if you did this last year. I'm trying to be as organized as possible this year.

So. All that said, who wants a fruitcake?

Ooh! Ooh! Me! Me!

I'd love a honey fruitcake. I can even contribute some decent whisky.

Chocolate for me please. I just sent you my address. But as I want a fruitcake real bad...I'll send it again. :) I can hardly wait! Last years was so yummy.

We would really enjoy one of the chocolate fruit cakes or the Emily Dickinson Fruitcake, if either are made without Rum. I'm ok with any other type of alcohol, but if alcohol free is easier, then that would be lovely too. Can we send you anything to put toward the cost of making such yummies? I love a good fruit cake, but around here everyone soaks things in rum, which gives me migraines - it would be absolutely lovely to be able to have good fruitcake!

I do! One Alton Brown fruitcake, please. No special instructions.

D'oh! I forgot to add, no special instructions.

I'm responding for the heck of it. *deep, dramatic, fruitcake-less sigh*

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry, honey! I experimented with vegan egg replacer. The result was nasty.

Maybe I'll make you some mincemeat. Email me and remind me?

Let me try this again. (Didn't post when I hit send.)

First, thank you.

Second, please may I have an Emily Dickinson cake? The one you made last year was sooooooo good!

Thanks

I'm tempted to ask if you'd consider dousing a chocolate fruitcake in Chambord, as I'm really not fond of rum, and you said it doesn't work well dry....

[livejournal.com profile] murphymom and I still owe Mystery House a fruitcake for the one that never made it to you last year.

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2005-10-26 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't have any Chambord, but how about brandy? :D

Oh, I would *love* a fruitcake! I wanted one last year and wasn't fast enough. I think the Alton Brown sounds fantastic. I'm so jazzed that you don't put nuts in them, that's just perfect. No special considerations... just... fruitcake!!! *happydance*

[identity profile] tibicina.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 03:37 pm (UTC)(link)
*makes big puppy-dog eyes at you* Honey fruitcake. No liquor. Pretty please. *boingy*

One Alton Brown fruitcake please. As is (i.e. as in "original recipe, no substitutions"). Last year's was yummylicious.

And it's good that you're setting a limit of 25 cakes for yourself!

[identity profile] browngirl.livejournal.com 2005-10-26 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure, though for some reason I think I remember making you a special one last year. Not gluten free or anything like that, right?

[identity profile] bercilakslady.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not sure if there is still room, but with the threaded comments, I figured I'd try.

A Honey Fruitcake please, and no special instructions.

Thank you!

[identity profile] persis.livejournal.com 2005-10-25 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd love either the Alton Brown or the Emily Dickenson, no requirements, alcohol OK... Did I get in in time this year?

Big *hugs* to you!
