Mundane Bingo
So, this is mostly a rec, for http://mundane-bingo.dreamwidth.org/ which is currently collecting prompts. "Mundane Bingo is, like Kink Bingo, H/C Bingo, and Schmoop Bingo, a fannish bingo fest devoted to the mundane and trivial events our fannish characters go through. " The description reminds me of the delights of
cereta's Grading Hell Theaters and all those memes where we ask each other, "How would Character X handle Everyday Thing Y?"
It also seems to me that Mundane Bingo could encompass much of the same territory as Schmoop Bingo, and more inclusively: recently, a friend of mine brought to the Schmoop Bingo mods' attention that their holiday prompts included and specified only Christian holidays; the response was condescending and dismissive, and then the entire discussion was hidden from view, likely deleted, unfortunately before my friend or I could take screencaps. Whereas, the mods of Mundane Bingo "actively encourage non-US, non-Christian-centric mundane event prompts." So, I think schmoop revolving around a beautiful Sukkot booth, Diwali fireworks, or a special dish at an Iftar meal or Seder would all fit beautifully into Mundane Bingo's mission.

Wow. What a stupidly unnecessary way to deal with concerns re: ~internet fandom fanfiction kinky writing non-paying bingo~.
It would be stupidly unnecessary to deal with concerns re: regular-ass RL bingo.
I don't see how there could be any reaction to that other than "oh snap, you're right, my bad. Maybe we could change it to 'holidays with the family' or something? Or better yet do you have suggestions for others we could add to the list? WE COULD HAVE THE AWESOMEST LIST OF HOLIDAYS EVER"
Because of the point?
Which is: fun?
Then again I think actively choosing a rarer, under-represented option in anything is fun, and I guess they don't agree?
And apparently schmoop = serious business?
